At St. Luke’s we recognize a direct connection between spirituality and the rest of life, and we believe that Jesus’ example and our Christian mission mandate that we address physical and emotional needs as well as spiritual ones. Our Pastoral Care Ministries provide prayer, guidance, and support to those struggling with physical or emotional illness or disability through visitation, advocacy, education, and counseling. There are several volunteer opportunities within Pastoral Care.

  • Visitation Ministers bring the presence of God and the St. Luke’s community, including Eucharist, to those in our parish who are homebound or in hospitals and nursing homes.

  • Transportation Ministers provide transportation to medical appointments for our homebound with no other means of transportation

  • Prayer Chain Ministers pray for the needs of our parishioners, our community, our nation, and our world, with special attention to personal prayer requests sent to the main prayer chain contact person. They also pass these requests on to the next “link” on the chain.

  • Bereavement Ministers are available to bring comfort and support to those suffering from death of a loved one. They also assist with our annual All Soul’s Day Memorial Mass on November 2nd and other bereavement events during the year.

  • Elizabeth & Zechariah Ministers are available to offer support and companionship to families in transition due to birth, adoption, miscarriage, infant death, “empty nest”, or becoming a grandparent. They also represent the parish at monthly Baptisms by placing stoles on children being baptized into the St. Luke’s community.
